1. Maintain Good Health.
Yes, maintain good health.
Your health is of paramount importance to help you pull through your day-to-day activities.
So you Take care of yourself so sickness doesn’t get in the way of your studies. Eat good food, you might be tempted to rely greatly on junk as you would almost always be busy.
Do not fall for this, try to eat healthy and drink a lot of water. Try also to get enough sleep. Get at least 6 hours of sleep.

In summary: Eat, Sleep, and Exercise.
2. Have A Daily Schedule.
For each day, draw out a plan and stick to it. You should make plans for tomorrow today’s evening.
As a student, you are expected to know what your lecture timetable would look like for each day.
In addition to that, write down other things you are Supposed to accomplish for that day.
This should include everything for that day like places you are supposed to go, the domestic duties you are supposed to carry out, and also topics you are supposed to cover.
Write out all these on a piece of paper the night before.
By morning carry your piece of paper around and do well to check out any of those you accomplish.
Seeing them gradually ticked out will give you a sense of fulfillment, motivate you and make you want to do more.
Keeping to your daily schedule will help you to avoid unnecessary distractions and you end up accomplishing a lot within a short period of time.
3. Read Examination And Assessment Instructions.
Always read the instructions carefully before starting any exam or test.
Instructions guide you on what to do during the exam. If you are asked to answer 4 out of 6 questions, don’t answer 5 just because you know the whole question.
Follow the instructions precisely. Imagine putting in a lot of effort and studying throughout the semester, but failing because you didn’t follow the instructions.
So, read the instructions thoroughly before beginning any exam.
4. Matriculation Number.
Your matriculation number is a unique number given to you during your years of study in a university, polytechnic, or college of education.
Before any examination make sure it’s documented and in cases where the matriculation number is typed on the answer booklet, cross-check to be sure the number is correct.
These things are very important because you might end up having a missing script due to these, which might result in tension and lower your performance in the next session.
While others engage in various school activities, you might find yourself preoccupied and distracted due to your missing result.
Ensure your efforts don’t go to waste.
5. Have A Study Group.
Students who are members of study groups tend to cover up their syllabus to a larger extent when compared with people who study alone.
However, choose your study group/partners wisely. You have to make sure members of your group are as enthusiastic as you are or even more as this will ensure that your efforts bear more fruit.
In study groups, topics are shared individually or in subgroups, after which the topics are read and discussed in the group.
This study pattern helps you cover more within a shorter time frame.
Discussed topics tend to stick more than topics that were just been read through.
Before you conclude that you prefer studying alone (like some students do), try out joining a study group first with like-minded study partners.
It is an unwise act to rule out something you haven’t encountered, practically, or experienced yet.
However, do not throw aside your solo study time.
Group study is meant to fuel up your solo study time – You would tend to assimilate faster when you read through those discussed topics. So, do not just discuss them and put them aside.

Write that out and paste it somewhere you can always see it every day.
Each time you see that, you would be motivated to put in more effort.
Remind yourself also of the possible negative outcome you would bear if you neglect to pursue your goals.
8. Try To Be Focused While Studying.
This is where the importance of getting breaks at intervals comes in. When you sit at a place for long hours studying, you might tend to lose focus.
Once you notice that you are no longer assimilating, it is advisable to take a short break. It is not about how long you study but about how well.
You sometimes see students who sit for long hours studying with very little to show for it.
It is advisable to take about five minutes break within everyone hour.
That way, you stay more focused as your brain tends to relax during break time.
9. Normalize Asking Necessary Questions.
Many students shy away from asking questions, either to their lecturers during lectures or to their fellow students about Important Information.
They might not be clear about it, Clarification is very important while climbing the ladder of success in any area of life because you might end up doing the right thing in the wrong way or even at the wrong time.
More so, failure to clear doubts or even waiting till the last minute before doing so may result in panic and anxiety.
For example, instead of assuming the exam would Start at 9 am, check out the timetable and also ask others just to be sure.
10. Keep Track Of Your Progress.
For every fit you achieve write it down in a journal. This could be courses you have successfully covered, how many times you were able to attend classes, quizzes, and exams you did very well in, etc.
For the things you weren’t able to properly get done, please write them down too and also put them the possible reasons that made you not do better.
Go through this journal from time to time. The positive ones would inspire you to do even more while the not-so-good ones would help you avoid the repetition of such.
11. A Quiet Environment Is Always Better.
It is always better to study in a calm and serene environment away from distractions.
This practice would increase your rate of adequate assimilation because you are having quality study time.

12. Do Not Procrastinate.
The temptation to put things off and do it later is always very high even outside the school walls. We put things off, waiting for a “convenient time”.
Truth is, there is no better time than the very moment you are supposed to do that. For every time you remember to do something, please do it that very moment.
Because “later” is never here”. Each time you are tempted to postpone doing something, always remember that there are more disadvantages to it than advantages.
Conclusion.
It is very good to aspire to be a straight “A” student. Which would be of great advantage to you as a student.
Do your best to be your best. Don’t settle for less as less is never enough.
Do not leave any stone unturned in achieving your fit to a better future. Graduating with an outstanding result is a beautiful step towards securing a great future and becoming a better person in life.
